The Brightwolf Project

——————————-

Brightwolf is a BBC production compiled for the instruction education of film students. The film has been edited up to the last few minutes, which are left to be edited by the student. Because of the nature of the project, we only have the ending of the film, a short segment edited by Travis, available to show.

While the Brightwolf Project may have been the bane of many film students’ existence, Travis found this particular piece to not be worth overlooking. There may come a time when a ministry asks for a project to be edited or produced and the only resources available are of low quality. Travis took the Brightwolf Project as opportunity to stretch his muscles and practice real world ministry editing.

Please note that when watching this, each scene was almost entirely reconstructed. Beginning visually, Travis used color correction to take the original footage and both redden the hue and darken the contrast. The intention was ultimately bring out more of that “horror” film feel. During the scene where the house is on fire, though not as visual here in streaming video, he used particle effects to add heat waves to make the scene appear as though the fire was much hotter than it appeared in the unedited footage. Lastly, he replaced the audio throughout. All sounds from clocks, footsteps, or even swallowing a drink have been replaced by Foley. The only original audio is the dialogue.
